When I used to visit my Nanny Rosemary and grandad Roger, who lived on the opposite end of the close to Maureen, I used to love running down to Maureen’s home with my brother Jordan to pop in to see her and Steve. She would always welcome us inside for a cup of tea. We would sit around the table and have a laugh with her, sometimes we would be gone for hours, and our mum would have to come looking for us, but she always knew where we would go. If when we visited, and Maureen was in the process of cooking something, she would let me watch. I remember she once made a chicken broth, which she explained step by step how to make it. She loved it when my curly hair was out, ‘Out and Wild’ she would call it. In my teenage years, she knew I was insecure about my appearance, but encouraged me to embrace and love who I was, and to not be ashamed of who I am. To this day, I owe that to her. Her love truly knew no bounds.

We would like to express our thanks for Thornalley's excellent service and the care they took over my husband's funeral. Everyone we spoke and dealt with were very professional and caring and made a very sad time that much more bearable. We would have no hesitation in recommending their services.
